Every day is a learning curve. Whether its on the job, our relationships with people or general life experiences – we all learn and if we don’t then we take a backward step.

Today was an extraordinary day and for me, not in a good way.

It has been crazy here at Marketing Eye – ever since Leonardo DiCaprio disguised himself in the movie as someone an Australian businessman knew and said he was from Marketing Eye.

Day after day I speak with entrepreneurs who have a great business concept, excellent service and are in general really nice people, but they don’t know how to sell themselves nor do they know how to put their best foot forward.

 You might remember a few weeks back I mentioned giving a presentation to a group of image consultants and stylists. Since then it seems I’ve been talking with loads of people about how difficult it is to maintain a fresh and stylish look. How you present yourself is so important in your career as well as personal life.

I have to admit – I have been hiding under a rock when it comes to what is going on with Australia’s Political parties.

On a beautiful autumn Saturday in Melbourne there are so many things to do. Walk along the beach, head to the country, shopping, museums, art galleries… you name it, there is always something to do.

On Saturday, I was invited to speak to a group of image consultants and stylists about my journey as an entrepreneur and to also give a few tips on marketing.

Most people have had an ill-fated one night stand, where they have drunkenly exposed themselves to the other sex only to wake up with the worst hangover and a feeling of guilt and regret.

Like most companies, Marketing Eye has been slack and we have not practiced what we preach. It’s like mechanics who never fix their own car.

We encourage clients to engage in proactive marketing activities and yet, we rely solely on word of mouth referral, twitter, facebook, blogs and our website.
