The role of the marketer has changed. From the pre-digital days to modern times, this shift has left the marketers’ without the ability to be versatile behind. Historically, marketing campaigns only consisted of a few channels. Now, with the rise of technology, there’s the internet, mobile phones, social media channels and smartphone apps. All of which are instrumental to a successful campaign. Recognising this transition and moving with it, is paramount to the success of a marketer.

Have you ever cut of your nose in spite of your face? If you think that you haven't - ever - then perhaps you are kidding yourself. We have all done it in life and our careers. It's the lessons we learn from our mistakes that often take us to where we need to be. We've all heard this many times before, and without sounding like a broken record, it needs reinforcing. No matter what age we are or what stage we are in our careers, we will make mistakes, choose the wrong option and be afraid to the take risks that might just lead us to where we want to go.

When a marketing student graduates, there is so much uncertainty, especially in the current climate. As a company that fosters growth in young graduates, we are determined to help people that are embarking on a career in a profession that is ever-changing, dynamic and technology driven.

As a Marketing Graduate we will on-board you to Marketing Eye in a way that allows you to see the full breadth of what a career in marketing will look like. What’s your post-graduation dream? After focusing on studying for so many years, choosing a high salary job as well as a future with long-term prospects is probably what’s on your mind. Most people think of the dream job; high paying with loads of perks?
In your 40’s, and you haven’t made your mark yet?

I’m almost terrified to write this down, but it is something that has to be said. As I sit with my 40-something year old friends, we all sit with a similar dilemma that leaves each and everyone one of us slightly unfulfilled.
Perfectionism can be taken to unrealistic heights: let’s cast our minds to the fallout of the Harvey Weinstein scandal in the US. It has exposed some of Hollywood’s dirty secrets of sexual harassment in the pursuit of perfection.

By this I mean, ambition often gets a bad rap. The trait that pushes someone toward success can sometimes turn into a game where winning isn’t about achieving; it’s about beating the other person. Channel it correctly, however, and ambition can bring great results.
In the media or life in general, there is an expectation for everyone to be flawless. On social media, everyone appears impeccable - but when one investigates deep down the vault of reality, life appears far from what we see on our screens or on the news stand.

So why do so many of us feel the need to drive in this lane towards perfection? Are these expectations doing us more harm than good?
When it comes to working, so many people are stuck doing a job they don’t even enjoy. It’s hard when you are in college and all of a sudden have to decide what you want to do for the rest of your life. You think about money first, then maybe what you were good at in high school (math, science, writing, etc.), and that’s about all you have to go off of.
Some careers give you everything; fulfillment, work/life balance, monetary compensation and the ability to own your own business. Marketing Eye licensing does just that. If you are a marketing or communications manager, looking to reach the next level, then we have the answer for you.
I was talking with a friend this week about the reorganization of the company where she works.  A colleague is being demoted from the job she has had for ten years, and the manager didn't think this demotion would drive the employee our of the company due to her old age of 49.

Next week I will be 44.  I don't feel old.  I feel mentally sharp and physically fit. I juggle many things as a business owner, a mom a weekend athlete ( I just ran a half marathon two months ago). I just don't feel old. I have spent 15 years in corporate, owned and grown a business, beginning a new business.  I feel I am finally hitting my stride in my career and can be seen as an expert in my field.
